Business Case

I want to show a confirmation page before submitting the SMS message to the gateway.  In the confirmation page information like number of SMS messages, number of credits to use, no of available credits etc..  Once the member confirms then only the system system should submit the message to the gateway.

Solution

It works out of box in JEEMA SMS. There will a confirmation view before the send sms process started. There available credits, credits for the message, actual message will be display. After click 'confirm',the message will be start to send.

Business case

I want to provide an option to my customers in the send sms form to select a particular time and schedule the SMS.  After scheduling I also want to provide my member on the status of the scheduled SMS messages

Solution

Yes it works out of box.  Scheduling can be enabled from JEEMA SMS configuration(Configuration->Send->Send Options).  Enabling this will show a small calendar box in the send SMS form where members can choose a date and time and schedule the SMS messages

Business Case

I want to allow my members to send the SMS message via Email along with the normal mobile SMS message.  Whatever the text typed in the text box should go as Email and also send as SMS

Solution

Yes, it is possible out of box.You can enable this from JEEMA SMS configuration(Configuration->Layout->Send Layout) .But remember that the email address of a contact is stored in the contact table.  It will work only if you send SMS message by selecting the contacts from contact view and send SMS.  If any of the contact doesn't have any email then it will only send SMS.

Business Case

I want to setup a Joomla SMS website to allow my members to send personalized SMS messages based on a excel spread sheet.  In the spread sheet I will have the mobile number in one column and message in an another column with variables and values in other columns.  The system should supply the values to those variables and form the SMS message and send to the respective mobile number.

Solution

Personalised SMS works out of box in JEEMA SMS.  It supports 2 ways of sending personalized SMS messages.  One way is on page submit and another way is as a background process.  You can prepare a CSV file which can contain multiple rows and each row can have multiple columns.  Give the mobile number in the first column and message in the second column.  Variables can be provided with # values.  Once the CSV is uploaded the system will form the SMS message based on the variables and values and send to the respective mobile number.  If background is enabled then the CSV file will be uploaded to a particular folder.  And a cronjob will pick the file and send the messages.  It also supports sending UNICODE messages.

Business Case

I want to filter out the SMS messages based on the configured bad words.  Once member submit the SMS message and if the message contains any or all of the configured bad words then the administrator can review the message and approve it before sending.

Solution

Filtering SMS message is one of the core feature of JEEMA SMS.  By default it is disabled but it can be enabled from administrator under configuration(Configuration->Send->Routing and Filtering).  As an administrator he can configure multiple bad words separated by comma.  It also allows to configure whether all words to be matched or any one of the word is matched.  And finally you can cofigure what to do if a SMS contains the bad words.  There are 2 options cancel or waitlist.  Cancel will cancel the message immediately and store under cancel table.  Waitlist will store under waitlist table where admin can approve the messages.  Admin can approve or cancel the waitlisted messages.

Business Case

I want to allow my members to submit SMS messages to multiple mobile numbers by delimited by comma. On submitting the SMS to the gateway the system should submit in a batch mode.  For example if the member has given 100 mobile numbers in the TO box then the system should submit 50 mobile numbers in the first submit and the next 50 in the second submit.

Solution

JEEMA SMS supports this feature out of box.  This can be defined in the administrator under configuration page(Configuration->send->Bulk contacts) where the bulk type can be enabled along with the batch limit.  Based on the batch limit the mobile numbers will be divided and submitted to the SMS gateway.  Please note that this will not work if the bulk type is selected as 'one by one'.

Business Case

I want to limit the number of mobile numbers to a predefined count.  Even though members typed multiple mobile numbers in the TO box, I want to submit only a limited number of mobile numbers to the SMS gateway.

Solution

Yes this can be achievable with JEEMA SMS.  You can define the maximum mobile number count in the configuration page(Configuration->Send->Bulk contacts).  By default it will be set as 0 which means unlimitted.  Setting this to a pre-defined number will pick only those many mobile numbers and submit to the gateway.  If confirmation page is enabled then member can see how many mobile numbers are picked and how much credits will it deduct.

Business Case

I want to run a free SMS gateway where I want to allow members to send free SMS messages.  In each SMS message I want to concatenate a prefix text of suffix text to the actual SMS message what the user typed.

Solution

Yes, JEEMA SMS supports message suffix and prefix.  You can configure a standard text as message prefix and suffix.  This can also be controlled for each member.  Meaning prefix and suffix can be set to each member account.  The prefix and suffix text will be concatenated to the actual SMS message and submit to the gateway.

Business Case

I want to deduct the SMS credits from the member account before submitting the SMS to the gateway.  For example if a member submits a SMS to 10 mobile numbers, the system should deduct the credits for those 10 mobile numbers from the member account and then only submit the message to the gateway.

Solution

By default JEEMA SMS deducts the credits based on the success response received from the gateway after the SMS submission.  But this can be override by define the setting up 'Before Launch' as the account update in JEEMA SMS Configuration.  Once setup as before launch, the credits will be deducted from the members account first and then only the SMS submission to the gateway happens.

Business Case

I want to allow the members to send multi page SMS messages.  There should be counter in the send sms form where it should tell the number of pages typed.  The number of characters per page should be configurable at admin side.

Solution

JEEMA SMS supports sending multi page SMS messages.  It also depends on the SMS gateway you are using.  In the admin section under configuration the number of primary credits and number of secondary credits can be defined.  Based on that the counter in the send sms form will show the number of pages typed.  And based on the number of pages the credits will get calculated.
